- Schools to get to know others doing similar work and to establish contact for future communication

Learning experience for participants; contribute to their own practice - Increase schools repertoire of data collection methods (by using creative methods ourselves during the day - this is not a training session)
- Lobby for greater understanding of learning than test scores.
- Explore methods to use to evaluate young people's learning.
Evaluators to collect data on the different schools for the evaluation - Identify how teachers and students perceive their own school organisational structure and culture
- Identify teachers and young researchers' own criteria for the success of their projects.
Promote the evaluation - Inform teachers and students about the Sussex University evaluation.
- Evaluators to get to know the participating schools and demonstrate their role (ie types of questions ask and how)
- Discuss what information the university would like schools to collect and how
