Provide opportunity for schools to network with each other

  • Schools to share work in progress
  • Schools to get to know others doing similar work and to establish contact for future communication
  • Recognition of the work they're doing
  • Have fun

Learning experience for participants; contribute to their own practice

  • Increase schools repertoire of data collection methods (by using creative methods ourselves during the day - this is not a training session)
  • Lobby for greater understanding of learning than test scores.
  • Explore methods to use to evaluate young people's learning.

Evaluators to collect data on the different schools for the evaluation

  • Identify how teachers and students perceive their own school organisational structure and culture
  • Identify teachers and young researchers' own criteria for the success of their projects.

Promote the evaluation

  • Inform teachers and students about the Sussex University evaluation.
  • Evaluators to get to know the participating schools and demonstrate their role (ie types of questions ask and how)
  • Discuss what information the university would like schools to collect and how
